Google announces Gemini 4 Carbon with limited access for cyber defenders

Google's announcement describes restricted access and company-reported security benchmarks. It does not establish public availability or independently tested performance.

Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon on 28 October 2026, with initial access for selected cyber defenders through its Fairwind programme. Its announcement says wider availability will follow.

Google reports scores of 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro, 54.8% on ExploitGym and 71.0% on CWE-bench. These are attributed evaluation results, not guaranteed success rates on a reader's software.

Access is the immediate limitation

An announcement is not a public release. Readers planning a deployment should check current eligibility rather than assume the model is available in their usual tools.

MicLinks Radar has not independently tested Carbon. A useful assessment still needs reproducible tasks, review of proposed patches and documented failures. We are not presenting Google's figures as our own measurements.
